Zero-sum thinking Zero-sum thinking is a way of thinking where one person’s gain would be another loss. Your gain is my loss and vice versa. If you want to gain something in your life, you have to get rid of another person’s gain. Zero-sum thinking is the root of all evil, they said. The most common example is War. The winner country is another country’s loss. That’s a zero-sum game. War is evil, so the zero-sum game is. That’s the logic behind why they said Zero-sum thinking is the root of all evil. But is war necessary? What about one person’s gain, would be they loss in some area? Let’s talk about zero-sum thinking on the internal side. Let’s start with the example:

  • if you want to succeed, you have to sacrifice your youth,
  • if you want to smart, you have to focus study and get rid of your hobby.
  • If you want to be CEO of a big company, you will not have a happy family.

If you {plus}, you have to have {minus}. That’s the format. Is that how our universe works? In some areas, I have to agree the zero-sum game is valid just because I can’t get a valid argument on why the zero-sum game is invalid. But I believe zero-sum game is not good.

Zero sum thinking Zero sum thinking is way of thinking where one person’s gain would be another loss. You gain is my loss. What is mean of that ? If you want to get achievement, you have to get rid of your competitor, instead working together. Zero sum thinking is the root of all evil. They said. If you take example war, a winner country war, another is loss. Ill take zero sum thinking on internal side, when we talk external side, I’m mean loss of another, not of loss in ourself. Example, if you want to success, you have to sacrifice your youth, if you want to smart, you have to focus study and get rid of your hobby. If you want to be director, you will not have a happy family, etc. If you plus, you have to have minus side. Thats all about zero sum thinking. But is that true? If you gain, you have loss or if you gain another person have to loss? In my opinion, there not. Just take a example of people, who have succeed is business, happy family, good health. If you find that, then zero sum game is invalid. On some area, I agree zero sum game is valid, because I can’t get valid argument on why zero sum game is invalid in certain area. But I believe, zero sum game is not necessary.
